School districts need to scrutinize dollars spent on private schools
Private schools across New Jersey that serve children with special needs are releasing tuition rates for fiscal year 2022. Invoices will promptly be sent to local school districts, which every year enroll students with severe challenges in these private schools in an effort to provide a more thorough, specialized education.

Perth Amboy Schools Superintendent Named Vice President of ESCNJ’s Board of Directors
Dr. David A. Roman, who has served as the superintendent of the Perth Amboy Public Schools for five years, has been selected by his peers to serve as Vice President of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey’s Board of Directors.

Como sabrá, el viernes 12 de junio, el gobernador Murphy emitió una orden ejecutiva (EO 149) declarando que los programas ESY podrían, si las agencias educativas locales lo consideran factible y apropiado, ofrecer programas ESY en persona. Esta orden prevé "la operación de campamentos de verano en persona que ofrecen programación diaria de varias horas para los jóvenes". Según el estado, los distritos escolares deben dar fe de que pueden satisfacer de manera segura las necesidades de todos los estudiantes y el personal.

Schools closed for remainder of school year
As you may be aware, on Friday, June 12th, Gov. Murphy issued an executive order (EO 149) declaring that ESY programs could – if local educational agencies deemed feasible and appropriate – offer in-person ESY programs. This order provides for “the operation of in-person summer camps that provide daily multi-hour programming for youths.” According to the state, school districts must attest that they can safely meet the needs of all students and staff.

School closures may be ordered either by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) or the Middlesex County health officials, if necessary.
