North Brunswick Acting Superintendent Joins ESCNJ Board of Directors

PISCATAWAY – August 27, 2021 – The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey (ESCNJ) has appointed Acting North Brunswick Schools Superintendent Janet Ciarrocca to its Board of Directors.

Ciarrocca’s diverse background, which includes curriculum development, technology, advocacy, fundraising and grant/programming, makes her a valuable addition to the board of directors.

Ciarrocca began her career in 1987 as an elementary school teacher and later became a library media specialist.  She has been with the North Brunswick schools since 2013, serving as Livingston Park Elementary School Principal and then Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology before being promoted to Acting Superintendent in 2021.

As one of the newest ESCNJ board members, Ciarrocca said, she looks forward to working collaboratively with other board members to enhance services already in place  for students with severe disabilities.

“I welcome the opportunity to work with my fellow colleagues in an effort to provide innovative services and financial savings, which will further promote the existing programs that ESCNJ has in place,” Ciarrocca said.

Ciarrocca earned her undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, as well as graduate degrees from Seton Hall University in Elementary Education and Kean University in Educational Media, as well as several professional  certifications.

“Janet Ciarrocca’s diversified background and years of experience will provide enormous value and assistance to further enhance the quality of the programs offered at ESCNJ,” said ESCNJ Schools Superintendent Mark Finkelstein. “We enthusiastically welcome her on board.”
